The Body Habit

This is an awesome opportunity that everyone that has ever struggled with weight loss should take advantage of, it is FREE.  I love free stuff, so you know I took advantage of this myself. 

There is a new program on the market called The Body Habit.  It is a program based on getting your mind in the right place before starting any diet and exercise program.  I really like the program.  It’s not about getting all hyped up telling yourself that you are going to work out 2 times a day 7 days a week.  Those exercise routines usually don’t work.  Life happens.  Things get in the way of those type of exercise routines.  This program shows you how to control your mind and set up small goals, that way life can’t get in the way.  It is an extremely useful tool for any dieter or anyone who just needs to get in shape.  I would recommend this product to anyone starting any diet and exercise program before I would recommed any other product.  I think every person needs to read this before they do anything else.  This program, if followed correctly, will set everyone up for success instead of failure.  If only I had come across this a long long time ago.  If you want more information click here.


The Zone Diet

The Zone Diet has been out for a while.  Jennifer Aniston has been rumored to be “in the Zone”.  If that is true than by all means, the diet plan works.  The Zone is based on carbs (40%) fat (30%) and protein (30%) of each meal.  It also focuses on calorie counting 500 per meal and 100 per snack.  The Zone is based on insulin levels within the body.  It allows you to have more carbs than protein or fat.  This will allow your body to maximize energy out of the carbs you are eating.  In turn you will burn the carbs.  I will be honest in saying I have never tried this diet nor do I personally know any one who has.  I can say I have tried the snack bars and they are yummy!  If you haven’t tried one, do it.  They are so good.  It has gotten good reviews on the internet and if followed correctly, will work.  Again I do want to stress, you still have to calorie count with this diet plus make sure you are getting the right ratio of carbs/fat/protein in each meal.  One good thing is that most veggies have carbs but are low fat/calorie foods.  So if you will find out which veggies can help out with this ratio before starting, the better.  It is worth checking out and I would recommend the diet.


Truth About Six Pack Abs

One of the newest crazes to hit the market is ebooks.  Okay this concept has probably been around for a while but it is definetely picking up steam now.  So I decided to check out this nifty item ans see what diet or exercise books were out there.

I stumbled on this ebook titled “The Truth About Six Pack Abs”.  The concept of the book is right there in the title.  If you read the book, the author will show you how to get those abs we all dream about. 

I checked out (bought) the book and to my surprise it is much more than that.  This guy, Michael Geary, shows you much more than that.  He will teach you which “health foods” are actually junk foods that is actually detrimental to our weight loss goals.  One other plus is that he actually goes over what fitness equipment actually works.  I have tried to do this to the best of my knowledge but unfortunetely I can not buy every piece of equipment. 

One other perk of this book is that the author, Michael Geary is a Certified Nutrition Specialist and a Certified Personal Trainer specializing in body fat reduction strategies and functional strength and power training.  I don’t know what all of that means, but I do think it means he knows his stuff. 

Think about it this way it is not going to hurt any of us to pick up this book and give it a try.  I have really enjoyed the book and have gotten some really good tips and ideas.

The Atkins Diet

The Atkins Diet has been around for quite some time now.  It is a diet that primarily focuses on protein.  It gets a bad rap all the time because people say it is not healthy.  The problem is that people don’t look into the diet before saying negative things about the diet.

The diet does focus a lot on meat which is packed with protein.  The diet does not limit the dieter to fatty meat though.  Think about how much meat is out there that is low fat and healthy for us.  Turkey, chicken, fish, and even beef.  When we are dieting we have to remember to be smart.  Just because it focuses on protien does not mean we can eat any type of meat.  Beef can be good for us if we are smart.  I pick up 90/10 everytime I buy beef.  When cooking it I always strain it and then take it over to the sink and wash it.  Washing it helps get the left over grease still mixed in out.  Now you can season the beef how ever you like.  If you like greasy beef, keep trying it without and before long you won’t like the taste of the greasy beef any more.

Turkey is always good for you.  It is not just for holidays anymore.  One tip for buying turkey that tastes good, is to always buy it from the deli.  It will taste so much better for practically the same cost.

Chicken is good for us as well.  Chicken does contain some fat so either buy boneless skinless chicken breasts or be prepared to mess with it.  By messing with it, I mean cutting off all the fat and skin you can see.  If you are willing to do it that way, it is really cheap.  Chicken can also be cooked a variety of ways.  It doesn’t get boring.

Okay so enough about how the meat in the Atkins Diet doesn’t have to clog our arteries.  One thing that gets left out of the Atkins program is that after a little while you can start adding other foods back into the diet.

My overall review is that it doesn’t have to be a high fat high protein diet.  It can be a high protein low fat diet.  It can be a little hard to stick to it, but if you are needing to lose weight quickly; this is your diet.

I absolutely love Lipodrene with ephedra.  Here is why:
It is really easy to take. You take 2 pills in the morning and 1 in the afternoon. I try to take the 2nd dose as close to noon as possible. This way I don’t have to worry at all about disrupted sleep. I have taken it as late as 2:30 and I still had no problem going to sleep. The pills amp up your energy levels, which help aid workouts. I can definetley tell a difference when I have not taken them compared to when I have when going to the gym. I also feel more focused. I know this sounds crazy but it is a lot easier for me to say “no” to the apple pie when taking a pill rather than when I haven’t taken anything. Oh wait it gets better…

This product does have really funny commercials.  They are pretty true, until they start actually advertising.  It is true that if my husband and I are on a diet at the same time; he will lose weight and I will find his weight and put it on my stomach, hips, thighs, or butt.  This product is not intended for women.  It is not intended for anyone.  It simply does not work.  It did not increase my energy or decrease my appetite.  Those are the two big factors I look at when determining if a weight loss product is going to work.  It didn’t even come close to either of those two factors.  So here is my review of SlimQuick: Save your money and enjoy the commercials.


Weight Watchers

Weight Watchers has been around for quite some time now.  Even the points system has been around for quite some time.  I will admit up front that I have never actually joined the program.  I like to save my money and spend them on diet pills or fitness equipment.  I have however read on the internet and used the points calculator enough to say I know the system works.  It is the easiest program out there to follow.  I use it!  It realizes that life happens and sometimes you will need to eat that piece of cake.  It also realizes that everyone eats at restaurants.  If you join the program, they will give you a restaurant guide and an eating guide.  I love that they teach you how to cook and live in the real world (my biggest problem with Nutrisystem).  It really goes over healthy nutrition but yet you don’t feel deprived.  My OB/GYN has always recommended this plan.  If you don’t want to believe me since I have never actually joined I will get a recommendation from my sister.  She joined it a few years ago and had tremendous success.  This is definitely something to spend your money on or at least research it on how to do-it-yourself.
